Minnesota logging trails are often converted to hiking trails, such as this one. This was, as I recall, an unplanned, unscheduled side trip, although I did enjoy it. We did see several deer up close, and some very odd, bright orange mushrooms. Much of my art practice would obviously be unseen having taken place in such an environment, however most everything has some type of documentation (mostly digital photographs).
Minnesota is not this green at the moment either. However, what is most interesting is how different each summer month is, with different plants and animals being the most active, abundant, or memorable. The only major wild animal I haven’t seen is the wolf, which were reintroduced into the Boundary Waters area a number of years ago.
